My name is Mark Allseits. I have been involved with Speech and Debate for over a decade. As a high school competitor, I competed in Public Forum Debate and Congressional Debate for Pine View School. The Pine View Speech and Debate Team was a small program which did not have any formal coaching. I learned debate by observing and studying successful competitors from around the country. After much perseverance, my partner and I were crowned the National Champions at the Tournament of Champions hosted at the University of Kentucky. I also was awarded Top Speaker in the Nation. My senior year of high school, I was also a finalist in Congressional Debate at the National Speech and Debate Association Championship. My high school success earned me a full-ride scholarship to Western Kentucky University. In my time at Western Kentucky University, I was top-speaker and championed the Kentucky Forensics Association State Tournament in Parliamentary Debate, won the Pi Kappa Delta National Championship in Lincoln Douglas Debate, and won the National Forensics Association Championship in Lincoln Douglas Debate. I also competed and advanced to elimination rounds in individual evens within the categories of limited prep and public address at NFA Nationals and AFA Nationals. In addition to my success as a competitor, I have a number of accolades as a Speech and Debate coach. In Public Forum Debate, I have coached a North Carolina State Champion, a Florida State Champion, and a Minnesota State Champion. I have also coached a team that won the Tournament of Champions. I am the only person in the history of Public Forum Debate to have won the Tournament of Champions as a competitor and as a coach. I have also had success coaching students in public speaking events. Most recently, one of my students placed Second in the nation at the National Speech and Debate Association Tournament in Extemporaneous Speaking. I have coached at a number of summer institutes, including: National Debate Forum Summit Debate, Dartmouth Debate Institute, and Capitol Debate. I have experience coaching younger students through private tutoring. I enjoy working with younger students since it affords me the opportunity to mold their debating and speaking at a young age. If you are interested in working with me, please feel free to reach out and chat with me more!
