At Boluo School students can find a wide range of specialties offered by our experienced tutors: from reading and writing to math and science, even debate and public speaking. More importantly, curriculum is personalized for each student as this is the best way to teach and learn.

We welcome English learners at any level to take classes from Boluo School. Our philosophy is to match you with a tutor based on your interest and learning style, then provide personalized education to form a long term relationship. The reason is simple, just like traditional classroom, the more your teacher knows you, the better he/she teaches, and the better you learn. We have tutors specializing from conversational English to test preps.

At current state, you can search and request a specific tutor based on the subject,  rate and  availability. Then the tutor will have a trial class to assess your English level, and prepare customized lesson plans for you. If you are happy with this tutor, you can purchase the lessons after the trial class. If not, then we will try to match with another tutor. However, you can only request 3 trial classes every 3 months.

In the U.S., there is no standard textbooks like what we do in China. Teachers have high flexibility to choose their own teaching materials for their students. Teachers are required to cover topics in common curriculum but they can use any materials they prefer. It’s totally normal to see teachers from same school and same grade use different textbooks for their students. So currently Boluo School asks tutors to prepare their own customized lesson plans, but we provide a lot of trainings and resources to help tutors choose the most relevant teaching materials for you.

We accept Alipay, We Chat and Paypal.

For conversational lesson, typically each session is 30 minutes, with 25 minutes face-to-face time, and 5 minutes for offline feedback. You can see the feedback in your email within 24 hours after your class. Feedback is an important part of learning process as you know what to improve next time.

For older students taking conversational lessons or other subjects,  you will have 55 minutes face-to-face time and 5 minutes wrapping up and offline feedback.

We use Skype or Zoom. Please confirm with your tutor before your class starts.

Please get ready 5 minutes before your class to maximize your time. Check your internet, microphone and earphone.

Please cancel and reschedule at least 24 hours ahead if you find out you can’t attend the class. Your tutor will reschedule your class. Life happens, we know. However, you can only have two cancellations within 24 hours of class without payment with the same tutor. After that, we will charge you for the class if you cancel it within 24 hours. We want to respect tutor’s time too, right?

If you don’t show up after 10 minutes of your class, tutor may leave and you are still charged for the class。

If you encounter technical difficulty caused by Boluo School, then we will offer a make-up class.

If you are late, you still can have the class, but tutors will end the class at normal schedule. If you are late for more than 10 minutes, then tutors may leave and you are still charged for the class.

If you don’t see your tutor when it’s time for your class, please contact tutor via instant message to reschedule. If you don’t hear back from your tutor after 24 hours, please contact Boluo School: boluoschool@gmail.com

If it’s not due to internet connection, please log back in as soon as possible, your tutor will do the same too. However, if you can’t log back in, please message tutor to make up the time at next class, or contact Boluo School for help.
